On Friday, April 4, at 6:30 p.m.<\/strong>, the Russian House in Rome will host the \u201cNotes of Memory\u201d concert <\/strong>on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of the devastating L’Aquila earthquake, which claimed the lives of 309 people. Abruzzo virtuoso soprano Chiara Tarquini and Raffaele Di Berto, musicologist and piano teacher, will perform music by Sergei Rachmaninov, Petr \u010cajkovsky, Giacomo Puccini, Vincenzo Bellini and Gaetano Donizetti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The evening will be held as part of the sixth season of the project \u201cThe Concerts of Friendship\u201d in collaboration with \u201cL’Aquila siamo noi,\u201d the cultural association created a few months after the earthquake in July 2009, when the inhabitants of the Abruzzo capital decided to unite to help rebuild the city by enhancing its cultural, architectural and musical heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The joint project of the Russian House in Rome, the Russian Embassy in Italy and the \u201cL’Aquila Siamo Noi\u201d Association was born in 2018, when the Government of the Russian Federation fully financed the restoration of Palazzo Ardinghelli (now the MAXXI Museum’s branch office) and the Church of St. Gregory the Great, investing 9 million euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
