Two hours to take an economic and political overview of 2024 and look at the prospects for 2025. Also talking about Italy and the Mattei Plan, one year after its public launch.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Local and international tensions, debt, financial difficulties, energy transition and redefinition of global balances continue to characterize the world scenario. At the same time, Africa confirms itself as a continent in turmoil, with sustained economic\u00a0growth,\u00a0technological\u00a0innovation and a\u00a0young and dynamic\u00a0population. 2024 was a year of confirmations and innovations, with signs that help to understand the prospects of 2025. What were the effects of initiatives such as Italy’s\u00a0Mattei Plan\u00a0and Europe’s Global Gateway on the African economy? What are the\u00a0new tools\u00a0available to\u00a0Italian companies\u00a0looking at Africa? How is Africa’s role within the\u00a0BRICS evolving, especially after the group’s enlargement? How is Africa addressing the challenges of energy transition and climate change? How to reconcile\u00a0development investments\u00a0and concerns about\u00a0debt? What are the implications of recent political changes and\u00a0anti-Western sentiments\u00a0in some regions of the continent?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These and other\u00a0questions will be\u00a0at the center of our debate on\u00a0Tuesday 28 January 2025<\/strong> in ROME and Thursday 30 January 2025 in Milan. The meetings – which will take place from\u00a010.30am to 12.30pm<\/strong>\u00a0and will be\u00a0preceded at 09.30am<\/strong> by a welcome coffee and a moment of ‘networking’ – will offer the opportunity to present a summary of the Bank’s latest\u00a0African Economic Outlook Development Agency (AfDB), as well as the economic reports of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference will be exclusively in person and the participants will be given a free copy of the January 2024 issue of Africa and Business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
