{"id":11066,"date":"2024-11-18T10:19:08","date_gmt":"2024-11-18T10:19:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.romeinternational.it\/en\/?post_type=mec-events&#038;p=11066"},"modified":"2024-11-18T10:19:09","modified_gmt":"2024-11-18T10:19:09","slug":"escolania-del-escorial-al-xxiii-festival-di-musica-ed-arte-sacra","status":"publish","type":"mec-events","link":"https:\/\/romeinternational.it\/en\/events\/escolania-del-escorial-al-xxiii-festival-di-musica-ed-arte-sacra\/","title":{"rendered":"Escolan\u00eda del Escorial al XXIII Festival di Musica ed Arte Sacra"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It is one of Spain&#8217;s most famous children&#8217;s choirs, the <strong>Escolan\u00eda del Escorial<\/strong> choir residing at the majestic Escorial Monastery, a Unesco heritage site, that will be the guest of the<strong> International Festival of Sacred Music and Art<\/strong> for the first time on <strong>Monday 18 November <\/strong>(9 p.m., free admission with reservation on the Fondazione Pro Musica e Arte Sacra website) in a concert at the Basilica di Sant&#8217;Agostino in Campo Marzio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Directed today by <strong>Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Abad Bolufer<\/strong>, the<strong>Escolan\u00eda del Escorial<\/strong> is the prestigious musical institution founded in 1974 by the Augustinian monks of the Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial. Forty children, known as \u2018escolanos\u2019, whose ages range from nine to seventeen, trained in music to maintain and enrich the musical and spiritual heritage of the Monastery.
