On Friday 15<\/strong> in Rome, at the Scottish church of St. Andrew<\/strong>, at 9 PM, the Guitalian
Quartet<\/strong> will present their new recording project called Latin Landscape<\/strong>.
The Guitalian Quartet consists of Italian guitarists with a long background in music who,
since 2006, have come together for this very special and rather rare quartet, made up of
only guitars. Claudio Marcotulli, Stefano Palamidessi, Adriano Walter Rullo and Guido Fichtner form
the current quartet and are on their third recording project. Musically, this new project,
Latin Landscape, is particularly felt by the quartet because of sonic affinities and because it was born from a
direct research into popular music. Research that almost inevitably led them to the sounds and rhythms
of South America and to that ever-involving harmony that characterises the warm musical culture
Latin American musical culture. This inspiration proves absolutely successful in combining the sounds of the
four guitars and being able to convey emotions of pleasant cheerfulness and desire for
and freedom, but also feelings such as nostalgia, the need for peace of mind and slow reflection.
In Latin Landscape you can experience and find all this in a programme that features among its
its authors some giants of music, such as: Marquez, Pixinguinha, Ramirez, Dyens, and Rossini.
In performing this vast repertoire, the sound of the quartet, which started with \u2018Guitalian Quartet
Live’, continues to enthuse audiences and critics alike, their music-making is direct, cheerful, at times
sometimes sweet, sometimes a little sad, but always engaging. The members of the quartet have performed in
some of the most prestigious concert venues in the world such as: the Salle Cortot in Paris, the Triphony
Hall in Tokyo, the Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto, the Teatro Coliseo in Buenos Aires, the Bath Festival in
England, and the Festival dei Due Mondi di Spoleto in Italy. The concert will be held at the Scottish church
of St. Andrew, located in the central Via XX Settembre and easily accessible on foot and by
means of transport. The concert is organised by The Arts Crossroad<\/strong>, a social promotion association set up to
to spread the passion for music and to create projects in which art, music and culture can
come together and thus involve people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
