Weekend in Rome – June 28th and 29th

What to do in Rome on the weekend of June 28th and 29th? Here are some suggestions:

-Melodie in Villa: on Sunday 30 June at 11 am at Villa Pamphilij, on the occasion of Melodie in Villa, thirty musicians by the name of Tommaso Quaranta and the young Pontine philharmonics will perform in a concert of music by Italian singer-songwriters.

-Cannes in Rome Mon Amour: this will be the last weekend to enjoy the initiative created by the National Association of Cinema Exhibitors (ANEC) of Lazio entitled "Cannes in Rome Mon Amour". There are many events in the various cinemas that have participated: Cinema Quattro Fontane, Giulio Cesare, Eden and Barberini.

-Summermela: the last event of Summermela will be held on Sunday 30 June, the festival dedicated to the dissemination of Indian cultures and traditions which began last 21 June on the occasion of International Yoga Day. At 7 pm in the Sala Affreschi of Palazzo Rospigliosi it will be possible to attend an Odissi and Bharatanatyam dance show, Sooraj Subramaniam.

-Notte a Colori - Bande de Femmes: the eleventh edition Bande de Femmes will take place in via Pesaro (Pigneto district) on Saturday 29 June, followed by 4,5,6 July 2024. Notte a Colori is the comics and of illustration but also an opportunity for debates and the circulation of ideas.

-Village Celimontana: on Saturday 29 June at 10pm, Village Celimontana will present the Soulpeanuts Big Band, the ten-piece formation that will dedicate the concert to African-American music of the 80s. On Sunday 30 June we will start with a history and music brunch by The Whisker Whims Quartet at 1pm and followed, at 9pm, by the appointment I only drink Rock'n'Roll, an evening dedicated to 50s music.

Don't forget that, on the occasion of the feast of the Patron Saints of Rome, Peter and Paul, the historical re-enactment of the Girandola returns to Castel Sant'Angelo on Saturday 29 June. At 9.30 pm you can watch the evocative fireworks show from the Lungotevere Tor di Nona and from the Vittorio Emanuele II, Sant'Angelo and Umberto I bridges. This year the event will coincide with the historical-documentary exhibition entitled "The wonder of time. The Girandola and pyrotechnic art in Castel Sant'Angelo".
