What to do in Rome on the weekend of 6 and 7 July? Here are some suggestions:
–Around Rome: the new major exhibition promoted by Arte Borgo Gallery entitled Around Rome kicks off on Saturday 6 July. Anna Isopo’s idea intends to deepen the perception of contemporary art, expanding the dialogue between colours, materials and shapes that find a relationship with history, the user and the territory. The exhibition will take place in five Roman squares: Piazza della Cancelleria Vaticana, Galleria della Biblioteca Angelica, Palazzo Velli Ezpo, Museo Venanzo Crocetti and Arte Borgo Gallery.
–Literatures. International Festival of Rome: on 7 July the event promoted by the Department of Culture of Rome Capitale, curated by the Library Institution of Rome Capitale, with the organizational coordination of Zètema Progetto Cultura entitled LITERATURE International Festival of Rome, returns to Rome. The 2024 edition is a tribute to one of the greatest writers of the twentieth century, Elsa Morante, fifty years after the publication of the novel La Storia.
–Videocittà- Visual, Digital, Culture: this weekend the seventh edition of Videocittà returns, the open and innovative audiovisual observatory capable of discovering and making known the transformative realities of moving images through projections, AV performances, training and informative talks, installations monumental and immersive, videomapping and videoart.
–Rome Unplugged Festival: the third edition of Rome Unplugged Festival begins on Saturday 6 July in the Appia Antica Park. At 7.30pm on Saturday there will be the history story “Annia tells Maxentius”, curated by Ersilia Maria Loreti, followed at 9pm at the Mausoleum of Romulus there will be “Sea Warrior”, the free lesson-concert by the cellist and multi-instrumentalist Naomi Berrill. Naomi Berrill then returns on Sunday 7 July at 10.30 am with a free matinee lesson-concert at the Cecilia Metella Mausoleum, in duo with the cellist Andrea Beninati with the “Islanders” project. On Sunday evening it is the powerful and unmistakable voice of Noemi that inaugurates the evening concerts at 9 pm in the evocative setting of the Historic House Casale delle Vignacce.
–Monte Mario “Massimo Urbani” Jazz Festival: this weekend the fifth edition of the Monte Mario “Massimo Urbani” Jazz Festival returns to the Santa Maria della Pietà Park. re days of music to remember one of the greatest jazz saxophonists made in Italy, which include the participation of international artists and the intervention of prestigious guests.
Don’t forget that, like every first Sunday of the month, on Sunday 7 July the museums will be free! The Celio Archaeological Park is open to free entry, with the Museum of Forma Urbis, the Sacred Area of Largo Argentina, the archaeological area of the Circus Maximus, Villa di Massenzio which for the occasion will extend its opening hours until 10.00 pm and the Imperial Forums.
