What to do in Rome on the weekend of 13th and 14th April 2024? Here are some advices:
Roma Film Music Festival: April 13th will be the last day of the international event that celebrates the world of soundtracks and great cinema at the Auditorium della Conciliazione, the Roma Film Music Festival. “007 Skyfall In Concert” arrives at the Auditorium on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th. On the big screen Daniel Craig takes on the role of the legendary spy with breathtaking action and a rhythm that nails you to your seat, while on stage the 90 members of the Italian Cinema Orchestra conducted by Anthony Gabriele perform the film’s entire soundtrack live in perfect synchronization with images.

“Contemporary Icons” exhibition: the “Contemporary Icons” exhibition will be open to the public in the prestigious rooms of the Vatican Chancellery Palace from 13 to 20 April 2024. The significant title chosen for the exhibition project of different artists, curated by Anna Isopo and Giorgio Vulcano intend to underline how much the work of art represents a map and every detail is a trace of the artist and his identity.

Japan Day: on Sunday 14th April the 21st Asian Film Festival will dedicate the day to Japan and new Japanese cinema, under the patronage of the Japanese Cultural Institute. We will start with After the Fever by Yamamoto Akira to continue, at 4.15 pm with The quilt and the other stories by Shinpei Yamasaki, in the presence of the director in the room. At 6.00 pm Ripples will be screened, a film strongly focused on themes women by the award-winning Naoko Ogigami, while at 8.15pm it will be the turn of One second ahead, one second Behind, by Nobuhiro Yamashita. The themed day will conclude with the film Sana by the master of horror cinema Takashi Shimizu. The films will be in their original language with Italian subtitles.

Inside by Dimitris Papaioannou: from the 14th to the 16th, an INSIDE video-performance installation by Dimitris Papaioannou, one of the most important visionary directors and visual artists in the world, will be open to the public at the Nuvola dell’EUR. The installation will take place in different time slots: April 14th from 11am to 5pm, April 15th from 5pm to 11pm and April 16th from 10am to 4pm.

Environments 1956-210- Environments of women artists II: the exhibition Environments 1956-210- Environments of women artists II is open to the public at MAXXI from 10 April. The exhibition, curated by Andrea Lissoni, Marina Pugliese and Francesco Stocchi, highlights the fundamental contribution of women to the history of this artistic expression.
