What to do in Rome on the weekend of 6th and 7th April 2024? Here are some advices:
Romics: from Thursday 4th to Sunday 7th April, the great international exhibition on comics, animation, cinema and games, Romics, returned to the Rome Fair. The thirty-second edition of the festival has chosen Batman in the poster, created by the artist of contemporary Comic Art, Simone Bianchi, to celebrate 85 years since the first appearance of the character in Detective Comics n.27 of 1939. From 10 am to 8 pm it will be possible to participate to the numerous initiatives with cartoonists, illustrators, voice actors, journalists and influencers well-known on the Italian and international scene.
Weekend ticket: 12 euros
Reopening of the Air-raid shelter and the Bunker: from 5th April the Air-raid shelter and the Bunker under the Casino Nobile of Villa Torlonia opened. The two buildings, built during the Second World War, can be visited through a new photographic and audio-visual installation that allows for an immersive and experiential visit.

Open House 2024: Open House 2024 returns to Rome from 6th to 14th April, nine days to discover hidden treasures and architectural wonders of the city of Rome for free. In addition to discovering the beauty of Unknown, Underground and Contemporary Rome, activities dedicated to families and multisensory visits for the blind and deaf have been organized within the STRAordinario project.
Africa Festival: on the 7th April the festival that celebrates African culture returns to Snodo Mandrione. During the Africa Festival, from 12pm to 9pm You will taste vthe typical dishes of African culinary culture, such as Ethiopian Zighinì and Samosas, but also join in the amazing experience of the Coffee and Tea Tuareg. During the festival, there will be lots of shows: the musical group Artale Djembè Lab, an Ethiopian dance performance in collaboration with Sikiam Yeshi, the Women Crossing theater and so on.

A World of Menus: From Friday 5th April to Sunday 7th April in the rooms of the Garum, Library and Museum of Cuisine, the most important monographic exhibition ever dedicated to menus on a global level will take place: A World of Menus, the great History at the table, conceived and curated by Garum and the international collectors’ association Menu Associati. The 400 menus that will be presented are parte of various prestigious public and private collections and many will be exhibited to the public for the first time.

Don’t forget that April 7th is the first Sunday of the month and, like every month, the civic museums, archaeological parks and places of culture will be open to the public for free. For the occasion, the new Forma Urbis Museum (10.00-16.00 hours, last entry at 15.00), which houses fragments of the Forma Urbis Romae, the map of Rome engraved on marble by the emperor Septimius Severus, a of the rarest and most important testimonies of the ancient city.
