On Wednesday 11 December 2024, a press conference dedicated to The 48 Hour Film Project Italia will be held at Spazio Europa in Via IV Novembre 149 in Rome. A meeting, scheduled at 6:30 p.m., in which the jurors of the 18th edition will be announced, the list of genres drawn by lot from the 150 participating teams will be announced, and the compulsory elements for the realisation of the short films will be revealed.
There will also be previews of the final evening of the project, scheduled for 13 December 2024 at the Teatro Italia in Rome.
Special attention will be paid to ‘CLIMENA – Cinema for Climate’, the winning project of the Annual Programme Statement 2023. The objectives achieved, the strong cultural and environmental impact and the future prospects of this initiative, which represents a concrete example of how cinema can raise awareness on crucial issues such as environmental sustainability, will be illustrated.
Speakers at the conference will include Tania Innamorati, artistic director of the project, Claire Palazzo, ambassador of the project in Rome and presenter of the final evening, Aldo Iuliano, award-winning director with a short film on the Oscar short list, Maccio Capatonda (in video link-up), juror for Best Director, Giacomo Ciarrapico, juror for Best Screenplay, Valentina Bertuzzi, Screenplay Lecturer for the Climena project and Elisabetta Ambrosi, climate expert journalist for ‘Il fatto quotidiano’. The meeting will be moderated by journalist Martina Gabrielli (‘Taxidrivers.it’)
Massimiliano Smeriglio, councillor for culture in Rome, a representative of the US Embassy in Italy and Alberto D’Argenzio, press attaché of the European Parliament in Italy, will be present to give institutional greetings.
