According to a ranking by Guruwalk, a platform that offers walking tours in cities, Rome is in first place in the top 100 cities that can be visited by foot. “The large number of monuments in the Capital sometimes makes tourists not even know where to start,” Guruwalk said. For second place, Budapest, in Hungary, was chosen for its mix of history, architecture and nightlife; in third place there is Barcelona, in Spain, for its cultural life, modernist buildings and urban beaches.
The study analyzed data from the Guruwalk website, taking into consideration bookings in the period between April 2023 and April 2024.
Rome is not the only Italian city present in the ranking, but 6 other cities have been awarded: Florence occupies fifth place, Venice (14th); Milan (25th); Naples (37th), Bologna in 78th place.
Among other awards , Spain is considered the best country to explore with a total of 28 cities out of 100 in the ranking. France also appears seven times, while the United Kingdom is present three times in the ranking along with Poland, Colombia and Vietnam.
