Three exhibitions at Villa Medici: CELESTIAL EPOPES, LE CITRON AND GUGLIELMO CASTELLI
The French Academy in Rome is pleased to organize and host three fascinating exhibitions, scheduled from 1 March to 19 May at Villa Medici.
“Celestial Epics” – Art Brut in the Decharme Collection This exhibition, hosted in the internal exhibition spaces of the Academy, explores the concept of Art Brut through the extraordinary Decharme collection. Art Brut is distinguished by its spontaneity and authenticity, representing works created by self-taught artists outside the conventional patterns of art.
“Le Citron” by Manet – A Masterpiece from the Musée d’Orsay in Paris The second exhibition presents Édouard Manet’s masterpiece, “Le Citron”, coming directly from the Musée d’Orsay in Paris. This iconic work offers a unique insight into Manet’s mastery of portraying everyday life through a bold and innovative gaze. The work will be exhibited in the historic apartments of Ferdinando de Medici.
- Guglielmo Castelli The Artclub cycle, now in its 38th appointment, will present, in the spaces of the Atélier Balthus, five works by the talented Turin painter Guglielmo Castelli, to offer an in-depth look into the young artist’s distinctive style and his contribution to the contemporary artistic panorama.
