The Nutcracker
The Christmas atmosphere enters the Russian House in Rome. On Thursday, 5 December at 6.30 pm, we will host the Literary and Musical Salon dedicated to the story of Petr Tchaikovsky’s ‘The Nutcracker’ inspired by the story by E. T. A. Hoffmann, rewritten by Alexandre Dumas the father. Experts will talk about the ballet phenomenon: Maria Federico, president of the Association ‘Il Mondo di Damarete’ will give an account of the Sicilian version of ‘The Nutcracker’ staged at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo in 2022. Theatre director, actor and writer Marco Belocchi will also speak.
On the evening’s programme will be music by Petr Čajkovskij, Nikolaj Rimskij-Korsakov, Giacomo Puccini, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Richard Strauss, Rimskij-Korsakov performed by Maria Smirnova (soprano), Elisaveta Smirnova (soprano) and Maxim Skogorev (piano).
