The Friederich Ebert Foundation presents a project
The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung is pleased to present a new project.
On April 13 at 5 p.m., the Roman editorial office of Scomodo will give space for the first staged reading of Alessia Cristofanilli’s play Microclima. The day will combine theater and debate to offer a unique opportunity for reflection and discussion on the state of our democracies and the transformations we are witnessing today.
The reading will be followed by the talk “The state of health of the democratic ecosystem,” which will be attended by Francesca De Benedetti (Domani), Selena Frasson (Fanpage), Massimiliano Smeriglio (Councillor for Culture – Municipality of Rome) and Sara Paolella of Scomodo, who will serve as moderator.
The Spectacle
In recent decades, democratic institutions have witnessed an epochal turnover of their protagonists, with the appearance on the scene of political forces who, from marginal actors in the grand spectacle of politics, have gradually gained public favor and centrality on the stage.
The dramaturgy recounts the History of our time as seen from within a microcosm: here of the great decisions the most concrete and material effects are felt. The play is about politics, but not the politics of great ideologies: it tells of its most practical and tangible effects.
A space for open and constructive dialogue, which through the stimuli created by the stage reading allows the audience, and guests, to confront, deepen, discuss.
The project
Sunday, April 13 at the Roman headquarters of the Associazione Scomodo – Via Carlo Emanuele I, 26 (Rome) – at 5 p.m.
Entrance with a €10 contribution to the artists.
A full-bodied excerpt from the text “Microclima” will be opened to the public for the first time, through an essential staging curated by the playwright together with Alberto Bellandi, an expert in stage movement; giving voice to the characters will be Federico Gatti, Sylvia Milton and Luca Di Sessa; political consultant for the project is Luca Argenta (FES).
The event is one of the stops Microclima will make before its official debut, scheduled for fall 2025.
