The Balkans, Italy and Europe – Historical and current perspectives
The Balkans are historically linked to Italy and its national interests from multiple points of view, and have been the scene of crises and important changes for the whole of Europe. Understanding its historical legacy from an Italian perspective helps to put the current situation of the region in the right context, and lays the foundations for a prospective reflection on regional security dynamics, the path of integration of the Balkans into the Euro-Atlantic community, and the interconnections with the ongoing global geopolitical competition.
Experts from the academic and research world, political, diplomatic and military representatives of Italian institutions will discuss these topics. The meeting will be held on June 24th at the Giovanni Spadolini Library of the Senate at 4 pm. To register click HERE. Please remember that appropriate clothing (jacket and tie) is mandatory to enter.
The event is organized by the Craxi Foundation in collaboration with the Istituto Affari Internazionali. It will also be broadcast on the Senate’s YouTube channels and on the Senate’s web TV.
