Puccini unpublished letters

On 29 November 2024 at 6.30 p.m., as part of the exhibition “Puccini on Russian stages ’, the Russian House in Rome will present the unpublished correspondence in Italy between Giacomo Puccini and Russian director Vladimir Alekseev. The exhibition will be presented by the director of the Russian National Museum of Music Mikhail Bryzgalov. The event is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Giacomo Puccini’s death.

Among the most precious elements there is a photographic portrait of Giacomo Puccini from the collection of Fedor Šaljapin’s museum with a dedication, in memory of the meeting of the two geniuses, the Italian composer and the Russian singer. The exhibition includes autographs of the great Italian composer, as well as previously unexhibited and little-known materials relating to the first performances of G. Puccini’s operas in Russia: programs of the premieres, rare photographs of the performers of the main roles, first editions of the operas published in life, theatrical sketches. The last section presents a Chronology of the composer’s life and work.

The exhibition is equipped with QR codes, with the help of which the visitor will be able to listen to audio recordings of G. Puccini’s works. The exhibition will be presented by the director of the Russian National Music Museum Mikhail Bryzgalov.

The event ends with the classical music concert. Soprano Elena Kuzina and pianist Emanuela Longo will perform music by Giacomo Puccini and one of her favorite Russian composers Sergei Rachmaninov.

Entrance is free (subject to availability). Reservations by phone 06 88816333 or via the link: https://forms.gle/k1frC24tcFu3qfncA
