Music for Theatre by Barbara Hannigan
From Thursday 18 to Saturday 20 April 2024, the Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia conducted by Barbara Hannigan will perform in the Sala Santa Cecilia of the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone. The first appointment is Thursday 18 April at 7.30 pm, followed by Friday 19 April at 8.30 pm and Saturday 20 April at 6.00 pm.
A joyful and theatrical program that consists of three centuries of music, from one of Haydn’s most entertaining and virtuosic symphonies, to Aaron Copland’s ode to 1920s America with burlesque and jazz, up to the whirlwind world of operetta and ballet music by Offenbach including the famous cancan to end with the director herself as a singer in Kurt Weill’s dreamy songs.
