Melodie in villa
From the music of the eighteenth century, to the opera arias of the nineteenth century with a look at the melodies of the dawn of the twentieth century, passing through Italian songwriting up to the sounds of ethnic music. On the occasion of the 2024 Music Festival, Melodie in Villa kicks off, a project promoted, within the framework of the programming of the Roman Summer 2024, by the Department of Culture of Rome Capital and the Cultural Activities Department, curated by Zètema Progetto Cultura and the the Enarchè association.
From today until July 28th, Melodie in Villa will offer ten concerts with free admission, bringing to as many villas and parks in the city a program of shows for all and intended, in particular, for an audience that has not always the opportunity to attend concerts.
Music therefore leaves its traditional places and performing among the avenues and trees of some of the most beautiful Roman villas will be both professional musicians and young instrumentalists, who will involve the spectators with their talent to spread their passion for this form of immortal art, in the full spirit of the European Music Festival. During each appointment, interventions are also planned to guide listeners in discovering and understanding the songs that will be performed.
The program kicked off this morning at 11 am at Villa Borghese (via Pietro Raimondi facing civico 2) with the Sinfonia nel Parco concert by Orchestra Papillon, a symphonic formation of young musicians aged 10 to 30, some of whom are also members of the JuniOrchestra of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia. Repeat at 5pm at Villa Gordiani (via Olevano Romano front number 81).
