Kaspar (ovvero una tortura di parole)
Kaspar is a reworking by Peter Handke of the mysterious story of Kaspar Hauser and takes its cue from Kaspar’s phrase “I would like to become such as someone else was” and moves from the purpose of demonstrating how an “empty” human consciousness can be filled, and with this raped, with the exercise of conventional linguistic formulas. A prompter subjects Kaspar to a veritable torture of words until he acquires properties of language and begins to rebel. At that point the game becomes complicated and it is no longer known exactly who is leading the game.
