Iranian cinema day in Rome

The Cultural Institute of Iran in Rome is pleased to present an extraordinary event dedicated to contemporary Iranian cinema, with the special participation of the award-winning director Monir Gheidi. On the afternoon of Thursday 6 February 2025, the Fellini Room at the Casa del Cinema in Rome, in Largo Marcello Mastroianni 1, will open with the screening of two significant works of contemporary Iranian cinema: “VILAIEHA” (INHABITANTS OF THE VILLA) screened at 5.00 pm directed by Monir Gheidi. The film, winner of numerous awards including the Crystal Simorgh for best emerging director at the Fajr Festival, sensitively tells the story of Aziz and his grandchildren during the Iran-Iraq conflict. The film explores wartime family dynamics, offering an intimate look at the lives of families of military personnel. There will also be a meeting with the director to follow.
