On May 2nd at 6.30 pm in the Nuovo Teatro Ateneo, Musica Sapienza celebrates International Jazz Day. For the occasion, the Big Band Jazz will perform in a concert dedicated to the figure of Duke Ellington, the most influential, prolific and charismatic jazz musician of all time, whose fiftieth anniversary of his death this year marks.
The evening will be enriched by the participation of the talented group Rosario Giuliani & Santa Cecilia saxophones ensemble, made up of some students from the Jazz Department of the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome. The director of the ensemble, maestro Rosario Giuliani, is also the author of the proposed piece Suite et poursuite, a three-part composition that will offer an emotional journey through a variety of musical atmospheres, combining technical mastery with artistic expression.
Entrance is free, upon reservation.
