In 2025, Easter will be celebrated on the same day, April 20, by both the Orthodox and Catholic churches. To mark the occasion, an event dedicated to the traditional symbol of the holiday – the Easter egg – will be held at the Russian House in Rome.
On Friday, April 11 at 6:30 p.m., artisans from the world-famous “Gzhel” Union will introduce viewers to Orthodox customs and folk traditions related to Easter eggs, tell about the symbolism in Russian gzhel-style designs, talk about the latest trends in the development of ceramic painting and various techniques of egg decoration.
The main painter of the “Gzhel” Union, Tatyana Sivova, will draw an Easter egg in real time. Thanks to Live Painting technology, guests of the Russian House in Rome will be able to see how the famous blue and white ornament, an integral part of Russian culture and world cultural heritage, is created.
