Giano Art Festival

The Arch of Janus projects itself into the future and does so through the suggestions of 15 young artists who will perform a live pictorial performance on Saturday 25 May, from 9.30 am to 2.30 pm. Thus begins the first edition of the Giano Art Festival, a public notice-winning project promoted by Roma Capitale in collaboration with Zètema Progetto Cultura with the patronage of Municipio I Roma Centro. Conceived and curated by Marco Panella, produced by the cultural factory Artix with the artistic direction of Danilo de’ Cocci, Giano Art Festival uses live painting as a narrative language of one of the most important archaeological sites in Rome, the Arcus Divi Costantini history with the name derived from its januaria function, or door, in turn associated with the Roman god of the beginning, Janus. Rich in an incredible history that sees it just a few steps from where legend has it that Romulus and Remus beached on the bend of the Tiber and just as few steps from the Palatine where history tells us Rome was founded, the Arch of Janus is all now witness to a charm that has remained unchanged over the centuries.
