Conflict Management and the Future of EU Foreign and Security Policy
As global crises and conflicts continue to reshape the geopolitical landscape and impact Europe’s security, the European Union (EU) sees its role in international security increasingly tested. From Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to Iran’s nuclear dispute and wars in the Middle East, there is an urgent need to examine how the EU manages the systemic forces – geopolitical rivalries, fragmented regional governance and internal divisions – that constrain its foreign policy and that of its member states.
Join us for the online launch event of Conflict Management and the Future of EU Foreign and Security Policy, the second book in the Trends and Perspectives in International Politics series, published by IAI for Routledge. Authors Riccardo Alcaro and Pol Bargués, Professor of Political Science at Fulda University of Applied Sciences Claudia Wiesner and series curator Leo Goretti will shed light on the evolving nature of European security, discussing its interactions with the domestic context and the systemic factors that make the EU actor a “relational power”.
