Chinese New Year in Rome

Chinese New Year 2025, also known as the Spring Festival, arrives in Rome with two days of celebrations on 7 and 8 February at the Nicola Calipari Gardens in Piazza Vittorio. The event, organised by the Chinese Community in Rome, celebrates the year of the Wooden Snake, symbol of wisdom and transformation. 7 February, the first day of the festival, will be devoted to cultural and culinary performances, accompanied by the evocative lights of lanterns. The second day, 8 February, will feature a dragon parade and lion dances, followed by institutional greetings from the Chinese ambassador and tastings of traditional dishes.

7 February
9 a.m. – 10 p.m.: cultural exhibition and Chinese cooking gazebo

8 February
9-22 hrs. culture exhibition and Chinese cooking gazebo – lantern magic, light show, guessing games and award ceremony.
Hours 5-6 pm: Chinese New Year celebration by the Chinese community
6-7 pm: lantern festival

9 February
Hours 9 a.m.-2 p.m.: Chinese New Year Celebration 2025, shows and gazebos
Hours 10 a.m.: dragon parade and lion dances
Hours 13:00: institutional greetings with the Chinese Ambassador in Rome and performances
3 p.m.: award ceremony

Free entrance. Participants will have the opportunity to taste Chinese dishes, explore the gazebos dedicated to Chinese culture and connect with the Chinese community in Rome.
