Balance of Power by Parsons Dance

From 14 to 17 November, Parsons Dance returns to the Teatro Olimpico for the season of the Accademia Filarmonica Romana with its new tour Balance of Power. Among historical choreographies and two European premieres inspired by the jazz of Miles Davis and the experimental electronics of Son Lux, one of which will feature Elena D’Amario as ‘Special guest’.

Balance of Power – tour 2024 includes six choreographic pieces – beloved classics from the Parsons Dance repertoire and two new additions – in a mix that enhances the entire company and its individual elements. At the centre of the programme will be two new productions for the first time in Europe: The Shape of Us and Juke.

Founded in 1985 by the creative genius of the eclectic choreographer David Parsons and the lighting designer Howell Binkley, Parsons Dance is one of the few companies that has not only made a name for itself on the international scene, but has also managed to leave its mark on the contemporary imagination and to create choreographies that have become true cult pieces of world dance. A dance that is disruptive force, an art full of energy and positivity, acrobatic and communicative at the same time. Sunny, exciting, fun.
