ARTISTS AT VILLA BORGHESE – Physarum polycephalum

The Capitoline Superintendence of Cultural Heritage is proposing a series of ARTISTS AT VILLA BORGHESE meetings, hosted in two evocative places within the city’s best-known public park: the Casino dell’Orologio – Salone del Pergolato and the Carlo Bilotti Museum – Orangery at Villa Bourgeois. The program of meetings focuses on contemporary artistic culture, with particular reference to the artistic and naturalistic heritage of the historic urban villas, a cornerstone of the protection and valorisation work of the Capitoline Superintendence.

The first appointment tomorrow, Thursday 27 June at 5.30 pm, at the Carlo Bilotti Museum – Orangery in Villa Borghese is dedicated to CAROLINA LOMBARDI who will present the video installation “Physarum polycephalum”.  Following this, the artist will dialogue with scholars belonging to different cultural and disciplinary fields: EMANUELE BEVILACQUA (Professor at the University of Italian Switzerland, media analyst, journalist and writer); EDMONDO DE LIGUORI (Teacher, historian of philosophy and essayist); MARIA GIUSEPPINA DI MONTE (Director, Hendrik Christian Andersen Museum, Rome); CLEOFE PALOCCI (Professor, Bio and Nanotechnology, Director CIABC, Dept. of Chemistry, Sapienza University of Rome); GABRIELE SIMONGINI (Art critic and teacher, Academy of Fine Arts, Rome).
