Anema & Core
On Wednesday, March 19, at 7:30 p.m., the Basilica of San Vitale (Via Nazionale 194/b) will host the concert “Anema & Core” as part of the VI season of “The Concerts of Friendship.” Mandolinist Francesco Mammola and guitarist Alfonso Brandi will offer the audience a fascinating musical journey from the great classics to contemporary composers: Dmitrij Šostakovič, Giacomo Puccini, Franz Lehar, Gioachino Rossini, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Vittorio Monti, Joaquin Rodrigo, Armando Corea, Agustin Lara, Ennio Morricone, Domenico Modugno, Astor Piazzolla.
The concert will take place as part of a joint project involving the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Italy, the Russian House in Rome, and the Cultural Association L’Aquila Siamo Noi. This initiative has been ongoing since 2018 as a gesture of gratitude from the people of L’Aquila to the Russian Federation for providing 9 million euros in financial assistance for the restoration and renovation of the Ardinghelli Palace and the Church of St. Gregory the Great, which were destroyed in the 2009 earthquake.
