Adélaide Ferrière debut in Rome

Adélaide Ferrière has been a guest performer in major concert halls, musical institutions and festivals around the world, and is expected to make her debut in Rome as a guest of the Accademia Filarmonica Romana on Thursday, March 13, at Teatro Argentina (9 p.m.), where she will offer a wide-ranging percussion-only program that spans the eighteenth century to the music of our day, trying her hand at multiple instruments to deepen and let the audience hear the wide rhythmic and sonic world of percussion: marimba, drums, vibraphone, bass drum, woodblock–and the human body itself.

The artist

A very young star, classical percussion prodigy, “Révélations soliste instrumental” at the 2017 Victoires de la Musique Classique in France (the first percussionist to receive an award at this ceremony), Adélaïde Ferrière, French, born in 1996, is among those extraordinary talents of the new generation of musicians. Called by Le Monde “a phenomenon,” by The Times a musician with an “impressive touch,” and by Classica an artist “with a bright future,” Ferrière has brought percussion to the attention of the international classical music scene with her talent.
