A Polish Queen in the Capitol: Maria Casimira and the Sobieski royal family in Rome
From 11 June to 21 September 2025, at Palazzo Caffarelli, the story of the stay of Queen Maria Casimira Sobieska and her court in Rome and, above all, the profound influence exerted on Roman cultural life by the Queen, a member of the Academy of Arcadia.
This exhibition, which constitutes the first appointment with ‘Campidoglio crocevia di culture’ – a new series of exhibitions dedicated to international personalities and events that saw the Campidoglio as a protagonist – intends to valorise the numerous Roman testimonies of the Sobieski royal family, both monumental and documentary, conserved in the collections of the Capitoline Superintendency.

To participate in the press conference, you must RSVP by 15.00 on Monday 9 June 2025.
TV crews and photographers will be allowed access to the exhibition for filming and imaging from 9.30 am. Journalists from print, radio, news agencies and online media will be able to access the exhibition after the press conference.
