A Bárbara nightlife by Ouka Leele

A nightlife Bárbara, created for the Museum of Rome in Trastevere, offers a journey through the long career – from 1978 to 2014 – of Ouka Leele (Madrid 1957-2022) starting from the photographs with which she set up her first exhibition in Madrid, Peluquería, until the last series made in Asturias in 2014, A donde la luz me lleve.

Hosted by the Museum of Rome in Trastevere from 17 April to 7 July 2024, Ouka Leele’s first solo exhibition in Italy includes not only photographs, but also part of her pictorial production, such as the Floreale and El Cantar de los Cantares series. On display are around 100 works of different sizes, formats and techniques (some of which are original), integrated with documentary material, print tests, catalogues, posters and merchandising material produced with his images.
