With the arrival of the warm season, one of the most anticipated summer events for Romans and tourists, combining history, archaeology and beauty, restarts. From June 20 to Sept. 28, 2025, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening, from 7:30 to 10 p.m. (last admission), under the enchantment of the starry sky you can immerse yourself in ancient Rome, rediscovering the wonders of the archaeological area of the Imperial Forums.
The initiative is promoted by Roma Capitale, Assessorato alla Cultura – Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali, with museum services and the organization of Zètema Progetto Cultura.
Entrance is from Piazza della Madonna di Loreto, from the Imperial Forum ticket office located near Trajan’s Column. A staircase leads down to the level of the archaeological area while, for people with mobility difficulties, an elevator is available. The hour-long tour takes place along a special wide walkway.
Participants, in groups of up to 25 people and accompanied by a guide (4 shifts are in Italian and 2 in English), will start walking along the Forum of Trajan, then through the passage-gallery that runs below Via dei Fori Imperiali, reach the Forum of Caesar with the ruins of the Temple of Venus and those of the porticoes that housed the tabernacles of the time, i.e., the offices and stores of the Forum. They will then continue to the Curia, seat of the Senate, and from there to the exit from Via Bonella onto Via dei Fori Imperiali, near Largo Corrado Ricci / Via della Salara Vecchia.
