Meeting with Rafael Cadenas
The meeting on April 10 at 6.00 pm at the Instituto Cervantes will be dedicated to celebrating the work of the poet Rafael Cadenas, winner of the 2022 Cervantes Prize.
In the panorama of Spanish-language poetry of recent years, Rafael Cadenas’ voice stands out as one of the most original and profound. The Venezuelan poet won all the most important prizes until reaching his real consecration with the Cervantes Prize in 2022.
In his work, observing the secret of things and existence is combined with a constant reflection on the essence of poetic making, in which the word, exact and free from all impurities, becomes the only true opportunity to get closer to others, to nature, to everything.
In his last two collections, of which a broad summary is proposed here, we discover a poet who has read and meditated on Bashō, who knows Zen and Taoism, but who retains the lucid irony that has always distinguished him.
Entrance to the event is free.
