For the centenary of her birth, Palazzo delle Esposizioni dedicated the exhibition to Carla Accardi, a key figure of contemporary Italian and international visual culture. Born in Trapani in 1924 and arrived in Rome in 1946 where she lived until her death in 2014, Accardi's work has been very important over the years for the birth and development of new ways of understanding the work of art.
Curated by Daniela Lancioni and Paola Bonani, the exhibition shows the artist's one hundred works to highlight key aspects of her technique, such as herpredilection for contrasts and the choice to express herself through the sign but witrh the attitude to reinvent it.
The exhibition is promoted by the Department of Culture of Rome Capital and Azienda Speciale Palaexpo and created with the collaboration of the Accardi Sanfilippo Archive and with the support of the Silvano Toti Foundation.
