Concert of Friendship – Malaysia and Italy

The concert will be performed by Viva Opera of Malaysia, led by Soprano Madam Cecilia Yap. Comprising of eight singers, Viva Operawill present a selection of Italian and French arias and songs, as well as Malaysian classics in conjunction with Eid Al-Fitr celebrations. 

Established in 2001, Viva Opera is a non-profit organization, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, dedicated to promoting the art of classical vocal music, and nurturing and training opera singers. Over the years, Viva Opera has organized masterclasses featuring renowned international singers, highlighted operatic performances, and presented recitals.

Trained at Rome’s Santa Cecilia Conservatory, Madam Cecilia Yap’s vocal style embodies the essence of Italian bel canto. Mentored by luminaries like Lorraine Nawa Jones Marenzi and Marcella Govoni, she was lauded by L’Opera magazine for her dramatic flair and refined vocal expression.
