Epiphany Day at Bioparco: activities

On Epiphany Day, the Bioparco di Roma is organising a great treasure hunt ‘In search of the golden stocking’ for families to explore the park and learn curiosities and anecdotes about the Befana.

Participants will have to overcome four fun tests in order to find the golden stocking. The first is ‘weights and measures’: participants will have to work out the weight or size of the objects that the Befana has lost on her night-time journey. The second is the ‘broom relay,’ an obstacle course to be completed in the shortest possible time. To pass the third task, a new nursery rhyme about the flying old lady must be composed. ‘Portrait with Tact’ is the title of the fourth and final task, which consists of creating a portrait of the Befana on the ground using canvas, cloth and rags. For each test passed, a coloured candy will be handed out. Whoever has obtained all four coloured candies will be able to go and collect the final clue that will lead the teams to find the mythical golden stocking.

Activities by reservation only. Reservations must be made at least 24 h before the date of the event to: info@ilflautomagico.net

During the day, you can participate in the educational activity ‘He who does not fit in is lost’. From 11.00 a.m. to 3.15 p.m., in the company of an educational guide, you will be able to observe very interesting animals at close quarters, such as Madagascar geckos, red-legged tortoises, arrow frogs, toads, cougars, axolotls, chameleons and stick insects. For a total of six appointments. You will discover how, through natural selection, life forms have found sometimes very ingenious adaptations to survive.

Reservations are compulsory; book on the day of the visit at the reservations desk at the park entrance.

Finally, the zoological staff will be available to the public to deepen their knowledge of the park’s guest specimens and to receive input on everything related to the natural environment and its conservation.
