Gala Evening Adriana Panni
Thirty years after her death, the Accademia Filarmonica Romana remembers one of the decisive figures in its history in an event that brings together composers, performers, choreographers and dancers. The Roman institution, in collaboration with the Teatro Capitolino, pays tribute to Adriana Panni thirty years after her death, one of the most charismatic, determined and enlightened figures who animated its history, guaranteeing it a leading place in the great concert societies. One of the leading figures in Italian musical organisation, Adriana Panni passed away on 5 November 1994 at the age of 89, after more than twenty years as president of the Philharmonic, which she had joined in 1945 as a councillor, then from 1955 as vice-president and from 1973 as president.
The concert, introduced by Sandro Cappelletto with the participation of Marcello Panni, remembers her with the music of composers who have gone through the history of the Philharmonic at her side: Igor Stravinsky, Goffredo Petrassi, Luciano Berio, and the composers of today, who were also artistic directors of the Philharmonic – Paolo Arcà, Matteo D’Amico and Giorgio Battistelli.
