The Youth Council of the United States Embassy in Rome
The Youth Council (YC) is a State Department initiative, led by the Office of Global Youth Issues. U.S. embassies and consulates around the world have established Youth Councils as tools to collaborate with emerging young leaders in addressing common challenges and as platforms to receive input from young leaders. The Youth Council aims to strengthen a sense of active citizenship among young Italians through leadership, awareness and civic engagement. The Youth Council aims to connect young people and inspire change by raising awareness of key youth issues, creating a space to address their concerns and finding and implementing solutions. The Youth Council acts as an advisory council to the Public Diplomacy Section and the Embassy on youth issues, focusing primarily on the design and implementation of projects aimed at young people.
