SUMMARY:Africa 2025, political and economic perspectives
DESCRIPTION:\nTwo hours to take an economic and political overview of 2024 and look at the prospects for 2025. Also talking about Italy and the Mattei Plan, one year after its public launch. \n\n\n\nLocal and international tensions, debt, financial difficulties, energy transition and redefinition of global balances continue to characterize the world scenario. At the same time, Africa confirms itself as a continent in turmoil, with sustained economic growth, technological innovation and a young and dynamic population. 2024 was a year of confirmations and innovations, with signs that help to understand the prospects of 2025. What were the effects of initiatives such as Italy’s Mattei Plan and Europe’s Global Gateway on the African economy? What are the new tools available to Italian companies looking at Africa? How is Africa’s role within the BRICS evolving, especially after the group’s enlargement? How is Africa addressing the challenges of energy transition and climate change? How to reconcile development investments and concerns about debt? What are the implications of recent political changes and anti-Western sentiments in some regions of the continent?\n\n\n\nThese and other questions will be at the center of our debate on Tuesday 28 January 2025 in ROME and Thursday 30 January 2025 in Milan. The meetings – which will take place from 10.30am to 12.30pm and will be preceded at 09.30am by a welcome coffee and a moment of ‘networking’ – will offer the opportunity to present a summary of the Bank’s latest African Economic Outlook Development Agency (AfDB), as well as the economic reports of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.\n\n\n\nThe conference will be exclusively in person and the participants will be given a free copy of the January 2024 issue of Africa and Business.\n\n\n\nParticipation is free and subject to availability, subject to registration on the following forms and/or confirmation at the address: eventi@internationalia.org\n\n\n\nFor partecipation click HERE ( https://internationalia.musvc2.net/e/tr?q=9%3dJaFWQZ%26s%3dY%267%3da8Z%268%3dY0cJg%262%3dDCQwO_AxZv_Lh_ywlw_9l_AxZv_KmmKAJz.C5B_ywlw_9loduKWMTcVogi7A9MQ%26A%3dtQBSjX.7B1%26EB%3dbBfJ%26Qz%3d7t8hXSYBfJXBfPbCWR%26E%3d0Zw99dOfGZtdA8xfD0RZmbvdB9Jg0eN0hWuaDXS9Cfu08cNdiXuaEfv9D9OAjcMc&mupckp=mupAtu4m8OiX0wt )\n
