The exhibition “Karl Briullov and Italy” includes photographs of medallions painted by Briullov, preserved today in the Church of St. Nicholas in Rome, and panels from the Russian Museum Русский музей/The State Russian Museum explaining the history of the creation of the most famous paintings of the painter.\n\n\n\nOne of the main researchers of Bryullov’s work, Grigory Goldovsky, head of the 18th-first half of 19th century painting department of the Russian Museum, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, will participate in the evening via video link from Moscow. The head of the “Virtual Services” office of the Russian Museum Maria Gladkikh will conduct the virtual tour of “The Last Day of Pompeii” through AR glasses, and the historian, writer and researcher Mikhail Talalay will introduce the public to the new Russian documentary film “ Karl Bryullov. Don’t burn.”\n\n\n\nThe screening at the Casa Russa will be the Italian premiere of the film. The documentary, created under the patronage of the Russian Historical Society, tells about the years of Briullov’s life in the town of Manziana near Rome and the main stages of his life in Italy.
