SUMMARY:AN ORGAN FOR ROME 2024 – IX edition
DESCRIPTION:\nSaturday 23 November at 8pm in the Basilica dei Santi Ambrogio e Carlo at the Corso, the fifth appointment of “An Organ for Rome“, with the concert entitled “Bach Generating Principle” which features works by Bach, Alessandro Sbordoni and Marco Persichetti.\n\n\n\nFaithful to the line followed so far, the Festival, while respecting the organ tradition, tries to explore unusual ways, instrumental combinations that are little or not practiced at all, musical forms and styles that are usually excluded from organ concerts, such as for example the symbiosis between the sound of the reeds and electronic music, which will be at the center of the last event on December 2nd at the Parco della Musica.\n\n\n\nCollaborating for the realization of the Festival promoted by Camerata Italica and the organist Giorgio Carnini, the CONI, the Accademia Filarmonica Romana, the Associazione Nuova Consonanza and the supporters Società Dante Alighieri, Istituto dell’Enciclopedia Italiana Treccani and Accademia Tedesca Villa Massimo.\n\n\n\nFor the concert on Saturday 23 November, however, we return to Bach, continuing the “Bach generating principle” series, in which we will listen to the greatest preludes, fantasies and fugues of the Kantor of Leipzig and the Lutheran chorales that gave Bach inspiration to compose veritable masterpieces, pages of rare poetry. In Saturday’s concert, alongside Bach’s works, there will be as many contemporary compositions inspired by them in their first performance: Freud Fantasy for organ by Alessandro Sbordoni and Kyrie, Sancte Spiritus for organ, 2 trumpets and percussion by Marco Persichetti.\n\n\n\nPerformers are the organists Flavia Gianfreda and Antonio Pantalone with Massimo Patella on trumpet, Paolo Casetti (soprano flugelhorn), Gianluca D’Arcangelo and Salvatore Daniele Scimeca on percussion.\n\n\n\nYou can find the entire program and information by clicking HERE ( https://www.facebook.com/UnOrganoPerRoma/?locale=it_IT )\n\n\n\n\n
